8.40.4 is the newest official version, but as of today, no one cares about that piece of a driver :P

True. But I don't see it in Livna for Fedora 6, there's still just 8.39.4. I wonder if anyone will package the new driver for fc6, or if I have to use ati's installer to generate rpms.

Give Livna at least a couple of days after the release for them to package it and ensure it won't brake things up, or you could generate your own RPMs if you want them this instant
