Hi All,
I'm putting together a Micro-ATX based media center that will run Linux/MythTV.
Currently I'm down to two different motherboards, both with HDMI output:
The Abit is Intel based and the Asus is AMD/Nvidia based.
I'm planning on booting off a CF card as well, thanks to halfmanhalfamazing (http://www.phoronix.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3424)
I obviously want it to be as quiet as possible and also don't want to spend extra on processing power I won't use.
Does anyone know what level of CPU you need for processing and outputting HDMI? Does it use the CPU at all, or is it all inbuilt in the graphics card. Should I just get a cheapo celeron/sempron or is there a need for the next level up?
TIA,
L.
