  • Sony Vaio with Sandy Bridge & Radeon dual GPU, would it work?

I've been eyeing the specs of new Vaio S-series and they look quite amazing for the price.

However, it has dual-GPU and unfortunately they're SB Intel HD & Radeon HD6470M. AFAIK, both are poorly supported GPU options. I'm positive SB issues will be ironed out eventually, but I have no clue about mobile Radeons.
Then there's another catch: Vaio has a hardware button that allows disabling the separate Radeon GPU manually without rebooting. Would that feature work in Linux as it does in Windows?

You are using the Intel only on Linux in the default configuration, but I recommend to set the BIOS/hardware to use only 1 card as that consumes less power. Switching cards easily is not yet possible.

I can't tell you whether that button will work.
