As you say, AMD CPU-based CL support has been available for a while now through the AMD APP (formerly Stream) SDK...

BUT the thing is that the AMD CPU-CL implementation might need some work. I'm getting 2.5 times the performance using Apple's CPU CL on a C2D 2.53Ghz as I do when running AMD CPU CL on a Phenom II X6 1055T (2.8Ghz). Could be a difference in the CL code which I am running, but I've been led to believe that it's a difference in the optimization of the two platforms.

Same with me, but in Madison, WI... I'm looking to move in a few months, and I'm currently looking for a job in my new location.

I don't see any new postings on their Careers website.
There's a boat load of job posting on their site recently. More so than usual.
