  • Mobility Radeon HD 5800 Series driver doesn't work.

I have an ATI HD 5830 Radeon graphic card. I have downloaded and installed the drivers from the official website. The problem is that I haven't my graphic card accelerated. When I type in the konsole fglrxinfo i get this:

X Error of failed request: BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 137 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 19 (X_GLXQueryServerString)
Serial number of failed request: 18
Current serial number in output stream: 18

    Any ideas?? Thanks in advance.

    P.S: I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 x64 on a HP Envy 15.

That's looking just fine to me...

I notice you're running the 64-bit version. I've had better success getting the drivers to work right if I first shutdown the X server (note - I'm using openSUSE).
On Ubuntu that would be (from a virtual terminal, e.g. pressing Alt+Ctrl+F2 and logging in):
        Code:
        sudo service gdm stop

Make sure you have the fglrx kernel module loaded. Post your dmesg output.
