  • ShiVa 3D engine tech demo, "The Hunt"

It has a Linux client. Kill zombies and submit your score.

I'm a bit surprised no one answered to this thread yet. Looks interesting, will install it to check it out and see how it runs on Linux... There doesn't seem to much information on the website about it, though, but the tech demo at least looks like fun.

Not a bad little game, worked fine with r300g too!

At times (with all maxed out, mind you) it drops to a crawl on my system (Athlon X2 5600 + nVidia 9800GT 512Mb GFX). And there seems to be clipping problems and other control issues (controls feel laggy as hell)

I always found error messages from fglrx quite cryptic.

Well for some reason you are using indirect rendering here, maybe that there's an env variable set or maybe you somehow borked up your install. Might want to fix that first and try again.

Looks like they've released a free-to-use version of their 3d engine.

This engine looks decent for indy development Phoronix should give a little bit more coverage to it, or at least contact the vendor to find out more about and make the community more aware. hopefully and since they are comming up with an editor for linux (like Unigine does) this would be great for the linux comunity

Unfortunately their engine has real bad performance even on high-end systems and Shiva 2 has become vapor-ware.
