Well, I'm more excited when features become usable than when they're first introduced.
The -RC3 fixed for me an early oops that was plaguing my startup since 2.6.36 IIRC, and the -RC4 fixed another oops that prevented me from running executables from btrfs partitions.
So personally I'm very excited for the stability of 2.6.38 as it's shaping up, especially when compared to .37 which has been a somewhat problematic kernel for me.
