  • generating a usefull bugreport?

    Hi

I'm having a problem where Xorg after a suspend 2 ram is using a ton of io. However, I've tried attaching gdb and breaking, and it won't break. So I'm having some problems figuring out whats going on.

I'm fairly sure it's the fglrx driver, I've had the nvidia blog before and I've never seen the issue. Yet now it happens on both ubuntu lucid and maverick, regardless of kernel/driver versions.

How can I generate a usefull bugreport of something like this?

The first step would be to look at these two articles on the Ubuntu wiki...

Ubuntu Wiki - Debugging Kernel Suspend Hibernate Resume

Ubuntu Wiki - Debugging Kernel Suspend

these include some of the most basic debugging techniques that are involved in pinpointing the cause of issues in power management (like Suspend, Hibernate and resume)

Yeah, but my problem is that it does resume. The system works just fine, but Xorg uses a constant 5-10mb io usage until I do a service gdm restart from console.
