Yes, indeed. What can Gnome possibly do that KDE can't?

Actually nothing. That's why after 9 years of Gnome, the last year I changed my Gentoo box to KDE4.

Run without bugs on most configurations...

Realy? Does it run on Windows too? As I recal most configurations are Windows...

As if the rest -- including your -- posts were more civilized...

                Damn that edit crap.

All that pointless stuff sucks and gets tiresome. It would be nice -- including me -- to have a focused discussion once.

                  - Decent support for bluetooth.
(although bluedevil should be coming now)
                  - Much better network manager applet.
(the kde one is almost unusable for certain tasks like accessing the internet with a mobile phone)
                  - Decent print dialogues
(although since 4.5 you can finally print odd/even pages in kde. However, there is no way to have the kde print dialogue remember obvious things like to duplex)
                  - Decent pulseaudio support
(e.g. ability to switch from headphones to main audio)

In other terms kde has much better eye candy, looks more polished, often feels faster, behaves more correctly wrt some aspects (in gnome when you have two monitors a disappearing task bar may appear on a second screen while autohiding in the first), ecc... but is lagging behind in many core functionalities that one would take for granted in a recent os.

I say this with regret, since I'm a kde user and kde is my favorite desktop.

When I ran PC-BSD KDE was the bomb. On Debian, there were a number of bugs.

That said, if it didn't have the bugs in some distros, it would be awesome. I'd take it over gnome-shell (what they're moving to in the future that basically is saying that their users are retarded). Removing configuration options is their first priority, second priority is usability.

After gnome-shell was announced as the successor I will drop gnome as soon as it's pushed out

Nice work! I don't think I'm needed here.
