    Phoronix: Linux 2.6.36-rc6 Kernel Released

The Linux 2.6.36 kernel is just about here. Linus Torvalds has now released the sixth RC build of this upcoming 2.6.36 build. In the past week since 2.6.36-rc5 was released, there's been many more regression fixes going into the kernel, but still it's not in a state ready for release by Linus' standards...

Due to erratic behaviour I was seeing in 2.6.35, I tried .36-rc4 and have been running it ever since. Must be pretty solid by now.

Yeah rc4 was pretty good but I had some ATI instability in rc5. Going to check out this new one.

Sounds nifty. I can't find an option for it so I guess it's an always on? Which means I've been using it for a little while but haven't noticed the difference. I haven't been doing anything too heavy lately though.

It is in fact always on just like the stuff it replaces. There's more work to be done migrating to the new workqueue system. LWN probably does a better job explaining than I can.
