The holy license war when Qt was not GPL'ed, and all that. Don't tell me you don't remember. FSF saw the danger that the whole Linux desktop would be dependent on a piece of non-free software (Qt), and tried to kill KDE as a result. The issue was resolved a couple of years later, and hasn't been an issue since then, other than the fact that GNOME was started.
Now we find out that the FSF was releasing non-free software as the very basis of every program running on Linux. For decades? :O
