Isn't GTX 460 (GF104) supposed to be another Fermin cousin?

Yes the GF104,106,108's are all Fermi GPU's.

Yeah, the GTX 460 is a nice card and I'm looking forward replacing my GTX 260 v2 with it. I had the EVGA GeForce GTX460 1024MB Superclocked but gave it back due to the fact that the fan was as loud as my hoover! I'm now looking forward to get a MSI GTX 460 Cyclone 1024MB.

So far how has the 460 GTX been ever since you got hold of it?

Well i was going from an ati 4670, so the performance increase has really been remarkable, also now most of the games i wanted to try on wine works - so thats a bonus as well
not to mention that kwin works without black boxes issues now.

If ati had proper drivers i would have gone for one of those instead as they support open source development more than nvidia, but if i cannot properly use my computer then theres really not much point, as Bruce Perens said "most people just want their computers to work".
