  • Mobility Radeon HD 3650 on Ubuntu 9.10 problem

    Hey,
    my Mobility Radeon HD 3650 does not work under Ubuntu 9.10 kernel 2.6.31. I've tried also what is written here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Ra...up%202%20Cards (to update the kernel to 33) but it didn't help, cuz during the installation the following lines appeared:
    fglrx (8.660): Installing module. .......(bad exit status: 10) Build failed. Installation skipped.
    What should I do?
    Thanks for reply.

    Maybe you will have better luck with 10.04.

      There's your problem. You're using the wrong driver. You should be using the "radeon" driver. Probably best with a recent kernel.

        just do

        sudo -i
        rm -f /etc/X11/xorg.conf*
        wget -N http://kanotix.com/files/install-fglrx-debian.sh
        DISPLAY= install-fglrx-debian.sh -z

        then reboot.

          "radeon" driver doesn't work at all.

                  What do you mean by "doesn't work at all" ?

                  Any chance you could try the out-of-box support in Ubuntu 10.04 ?
