Thanks for that info. Since 5450 support eyefinity it could be that you are not using a certified Displayport to VGA dongle or certain cards in the HD 5000 range like your 5450 and my 5770is still disabled for eyefinity due to various issues.

Do you have the same problem on your 5450 that you can see all 3 LCDs in CCC but only enable two at once ?

If your card is the PowerColor Go! Green AX5450 then this is a BIOS issue. Contact the manufacturer for an updated BIOS. Strangely, they don't just put it up for download. Maybe bridgman knows why

AS people have claimed, it's working fine with ubuntu 10.04 x86_64 here, but must of the bugs ATi have claimed to have fixed are still effecting me more often then not.

@Fluggo I'm running a XFX 5450 working fine here with the 10.7 drivers.

Thanks for the info. I have given up on this issues for the moment and are waiting on 10.8 to clear things up as a lot of bugs seems to have been introduced with the latest releases.

AMD also answered that "it will be fixed in an upcoming driver release." Hoping this is not just a standard answer.

Got this today regarding the issues with Eyefinity and rotation on RHEL 5.5 / CentOS 5.5

Both should be fixed with updates but might not be at the same time. The Linux Crew Team is working on both of the issues.

In order to update this service request, please respond, leaving the service request reference intact.

              Best regards,

I can confirm that I'm able to run 6 monitors now with the latest drivers 10.7 in Kubuntu 10.04 Lucid 64bit. The below xorg.conf gives me 6 monitors stacked in 2 rows. I used amdcccle to configure these.. I'm trying to see if there is a way to do TRUE eyefinity like with windows where you can merge all the monitors to act as a single monitor - but im not seeing "Grouping" in the amdcccle - and not finding any documentation on how to enable true eyefinity mode. This current mode I'm running is pretty much like the standard multiple monitors in windows.. not true eyefinity..

                heres the xorg.conf i'm running w/ 6 monitors @ 1680x1050

I used amdcccle to configure these.. I'm trying to see if there is a way to do TRUE eyefinity like with windows where you can merge all the monitors to act as a single monitor - but im not seeing "Grouping" in the amdcccle - and not finding any documentation on how to enable true eyefinity mode. This current mode I'm running is pretty much like the standard multiple monitors in windows.. not true eyefinity..
I'm not sure what you mean... I'm running something similar (though with four monitors). It's all one desktop, compiz covers the whole thing, can drag 3d windows between screens, all that... what more is there?

Unless you mean turning off the xinerama hints so that windows will cover all of the screens when you hit the maximize button? I had that on two monitors with twinview, trust me, it sucks. It's especially annoying when dialog boxes pop up half and half on different screens. No, thanks, I like this way much better.

From my experience different driver versions have different behaviours. With 10.5 (if I remember correctly) the windows streched and maximized on both screens but with 10.4 10.6 and 10.7 it back to just maximizing on one of the screens like most people want it to. And no im not running xinerama. Hardware is HD5770 but I have also seen this change on a HD4670.
