Yes, exactly. But I see these only on my laptop screen. Maybe coz I use "clone" for the bigdesktop.
Is it possible that it happens only to Ubuntu users?

I don't use clone, it's two separate screens for me. Also I use Debian Unstable (which is quite close to Ubuntu, though)

Yes this is quite similar to what I see (I think that I have a little more space between the two corrupted rectangles, but it's the same).

With the exception that on my dual screen setup, corruption on the bottom left corner only appears on the external screen, not on the laptop screen (but the mouse cursor bugs appears where the mouse cursor is, so it can be on any of the two screens).

Solution to mouse cursor and video corrruption

I had this problem also. In my case it occurred about 10 times a day, and for a while I put up with it by running two X sessions. When :0 got corrupted, I toggled to :1 and when that corrupted I toggled back to :0.

Eventually I found that loading ati-driver-installer-8.38.7-x86.x86_64.run fixed it.

You can get the driver from here

Forget my previous post on this subject. I still get the corruption with the 8.38.7 driver, just sufficiently less often that it looked like it was fixed.

I am back on versions again. I have been running 8.40.4 for a week now and have not seen the corruption in all that time.

Is there anyone using 8.40.4 that still has the problem?

                    Workaround:
apply this patch made by Kano http://www.rage3d.com/board/showpost...87&postcount=6

and the logo problem disappear (but the mouse problem persists).

                    See this discussion http://www.phoronix.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4235

Kano... would you make a patch also for our mouse problem??

Another workaround is to disable dri. Performance of 3d apps like marble now sucks, but at least I am rid of the corruption, both mouse and bottom right square.
