Phoronix: For Those Intel Netbooks, There's A MeeGo 1.0 Update

MeeGo, the joint project between Nokia and Intel that married the Maemo and Moblin operating systems together as one superior Linux-based operating system for Intel Atom netbooks and select Nokia devices, has a new stable 1.0 series update. This is actually the first update since MeeGo 1.0 was released for these mobile devices since the inaugural release in late May...

    Better 3d performance?

Is this supposed to be some kind of sick joke?
The 3d driver they have added to meego is a worse blob than any blob the world has ever experienced before.... there isn't even open source GLUE for it!

The good news is that this is NOT EMGD. Hopefully EMGD will be better than this and give us enough to get at least 2d without binaries.

All in all, the only benefit from meego is that they are supposed to give us EMGD, which will hopefully be decent.

      EMGD release is compromised :

These drivers may ship for OEM vendor, but it seems they won't be publicy available.

It seems that EMGD drivers will never be publicy available, because of licence restriction :
