  • radeon x2300 ubuntu 10.04 severe jitter

Hello, I've got an asus a8j and upgraded from ubuntu 9.10 to 10.04. Since then the display has a severe jitter. I have read and tried all advise on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RadeonHD for Group 1 cards. I've tried the xorg-edgers-live-test via Live CD, but no difference. I've also tried sudo sh ./ati-driver-installer-9-3-x86.x86_64.run (several versions higher as well) but the result in "Error: ./default_policy.sh does not support version. default:v2:i686:lib::none:2.6.32-22-generic; make sure that the version is being correctly set by --iscurrentdistro"
locate fglrx does result in the below, but I'm not sure whether its relevant?
    /usr/lib/fglrx
    /usr/lib/fglrx/etc
    /usr/lib/fglrx/libXvBAW.so.1
    /usr/lib/fglrx/etc/ati
    /usr/lib/fglrx/etc/ati/amdpcsdb
    /usr/share/app-install/desktop/fglrx-driver.desktop
    /usr/share/apport/package-hooks/source_fglrx-installer.py
    /usr/share/jockey/handlers/fglrx.py
    /usr/share/jockey/handlers/fglrx.pyc
    /var/cache/apt/archives/fglrx-amdcccle_2%3a8.723.1-0ubuntu3_i386.deb
    /var/cache/apt/archives/fglrx-modaliases_2%3a8.723.1-0ubuntu3_i386.deb
    /var/cache/apt/archives/fglrx_2%3a8.723.1-0ubuntu3_i386.deb
    /var/cache/apt/archives/xorg-driver-fglrx_2%3a8.723.1-0ubuntu3_i386.deb

    Any ideas, help?

    Thanks

Posting from jitter free x2300 laptop. Many thanks to http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubu...allation_Guide

The final step "sudo aticonfig --initial" did (and still does) result in "aticonfig: No supported adapters detected" which broke my heart, but after reboot all is good.
