  • GoogleEarth with no Vertex Shaders

    Does anyone know should we expect improvements for cards with no Vertex Shaders function in apply to GoogleEarth. Here are the results i get:

    client glx vendor string: Mesa Project and SGI
    client glx version string: 1.4
    OpenGL vendor string: X.Org R300 Project
    OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on RS690
    OpenGL version string: 2.1 Mesa 7.9-devel





    client glx vendor string: Mesa Project and SGI
    client glx version string: 1.4
    OpenGL vendor string: DRI R300 Project
    OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI R300 (RS690 791F) 20090101 NO-TCL DRI2
    OpenGL version string: 1.5 Mesa 7.9-devel

    Thanks a bunch! It's been improved today with the following update

    ia32-libs-mesa-dri-gallium-2.7ubuntu25+lucid~xorgedgers~ricotz3.3

    Though still better to use 'safe mode' in the GoogleEarth.

      I can't see any visual errors here with software vertex shaders.

        Maybe i'm wrong. I found information on the 'Gallium on Ubuntu' branch of the forum that Gallium was corrupted at that moment on the cards with no VertexShaders like RS690. So i thought it was the reason of such GoogleEarth behaviour.

          Software vertex shaders were fixed 10 days ago. If you encounter incorrect rendering, please report it as a bug (and don't hesitate to test latest mesa git before reporting). Thanks.
