You could have booted a LiveCD and chrooted over to the environment to install a new kernel. I've had to do it before.

It wasnt fun. Ive killed the system against. Ive installed a blocked package. SO now i do all again. Its fun. Im sure now i need only a complete half day and than i have all my things

By that mindset, I think most people who've used Gentoo have been "gentoo-killers" at one time or another.

Heck, sometimes I install Gentoo just to kill it. Because it's not that hard to do
