      Can't get Kwin effects work with fedora 12 (KDE 4.4) Otherwise this driver actually works with it :P Just remember adding "nomodeset" to kernel parameters.

        You need to disable it. If it's a kernel module, blacklist it in /etc/modprobe.d/. If it's built into the kernel, disable it in the Grub command line.

            Wouldn't it be rather because you are 2.6.32 instead of something older like 2.6.30 ?!?

              With Win not with Linux, 10-4 still has got the wrong color bug with h264. l5.1 support would be too nice, but xvba changes are very slow usually. Basically it is a joke that l5.1 h264 was NOT supported till now with DXVA2.

                    I get the same problem with Karmic x86_64.

                    I do the following and now it install and work fine:
                    Code:
                    sh ati-driver-installer-10-4-x86.x86_64.run --extract
                    cd fglrx-install.*

                    edit packages/Ubuntu/dists/karmic/rules
                    remove the last two lines:
                    binary-install/$(PKG_control)::
                            execstack -c debian/$(PKG_control)/$(DRIDIR)/bin/amdcccle

                    ./ati-installer.sh 10.4 --buildpkg Ubuntu/karmic
                    Is someone having better correction for the rules file?

                      @pchev

                      You also get kernel support up to .34 the same time when you use it.
