    Phoronix: X.Org Server 1.8 Release Candidate 2

X Server 1.8 may be the first X.Org release in recent times where it's released on time or at least close to being on schedule. Back in October, X Server 1.8 was given a release date of the 31st of March. This is just a little over a week away, but it looks like this next major update to the X Server that brings udev input handling, DRI2 updates, xorg.conf.d support, and other changes...

Great to see regular updates of Mesa and the Xserver nowadays. While Ubuntu 10.04 uses not so current versions due to their LTS stability concerns, I hope that with Ubuntu 10.10 we will see the inclusion of Mesa 7.9 and Xserver 1.9

I'm really glad x-org started releasing stuff out and letting us test it instead of trying to fix everything themselves before they would release. A toast to running 5 different xorg servers in the last 3 weeks.
