Sample of the change file:
Description:
fglrx - Video driver for the ATI graphics accelerators
fglrx-amdcccle - Catalyst Control Center for the ATI graphics accelerators
fglrx-dev - Video driver for the ATI graphics accelerators (devel files)
fglrx-modaliases - Identifiers supported by the ATI graphics driver
Launchpad-Bugs-Fixed: 258038 494699
Changes:
fglrx-installer (2:8.721-0ubuntu1) lucid; urgency=low
.
* New upstream release:
- Restore compatibility with kernel 2.6.32 and xserver 1.7 (LP: #494699).
- Add Passive Stereo support on workstation (FireGL/FirePro) hardware.
- Add Eyefinity support (more than 2 monitors on Radeon HD 5xxx hardware).
Officially WS-only but should work on consumer boards as well.
* Port packaging to the new alternatives system (LP: #258038).
If x-server 1.7 is indeed supported, that's good news for us Squeeze users who want to upgrade X!
-
If it's anything like the Windows driver there may be more Eyefinity improvements and general performance improvements - it'll probably take a while to get to the amdcccle frontend though:

@DivineGrace
Basically the driver works with squeeze, just not with the new lucid packageing. Up to karmic packageing it was possible to use em directly but not the lucid one as lucid has got special patches to the xserver with additional seach pathes for modules. In theory you could add symlinks as hack but i would not recommend that.
