    Does adding
    Code:
    Option "XAANoOffscreenPixmaps" "on"
    under Section "Device" in xorg.conf, followed by
    Code:
    aticonfig --input=/etc/X11/xorg.conf
    as root help anyone get composite effects to work?

      I always had this option on 'true' while testing 10.2. Compiz worked, kwin didnt.

            No idea, probably conflicts with some other offscreeb thing?

                @jrch2k8 - since you mentioned Crossfire issues, you will be glad to know that the Catalyst 10.4 Linux release notes include the following in the Resolved Issues section:

                * Flickering corruption no longer observed while running OpenGL applications with CrossFire enabled
