Asus Xonar - D1 or DX?

I'm interesed in buying one of these 2, I've read that Xonars work quite well with alsa. I've also read that people had issues with DX but the threads were year old. ALSA wiki says both are supported but the DX needs newest alsa and quite fresh kernel.

Can anybody confirm if it's working well? Or which one (d1 or dx) is less likely to cause trouble?

I went with D1, tested only front out and it seems to be working fine. Arch linux 2.6.30, alsa 1.0.20
