I got my source games running very well in wine 1.1.36. Highest graphic settings without HDR though.
But the only problem left, is my fps when in close combat I get a low fps when wine has to render other peoples in the screen.

Is that due to the higher complexity of objects like a soldier, or is it because of something else?

What can I do about it? It doesn't matter if I turn down my graphic.
I also got that kind of feeling in battles. Happened lastly in Modern Warfare 2 in Windows.

Try these high fps weapon skins:

Well actually I mostly play insurgency.
A low fps "fix" for that game is highly welcome.

I don't got the same kind of fps drop in windows.

You do know those benchmarks are from 20050419? Today they should be better

windows do not win in generell vs wine...

wine also can win because wine isn't a emulator wine is a optimator!

wine translate old directx8 code in newest openGL3.2 super-shit code.

wine is also much faster in cpu based benchmarks up to 244%...
Sorry Q, but I have a hard time believing that. How come wine has lower performance than windows in graphic related tasks then?

Don't get me wrong, I really wish you were right.

This is not fully true fact. I have tested that with latest wine 1.1.36 against Windows XP.

Processor Dual Core, Ram 4 GB, Intel Q35 graphics chip.

World of Wircraft Reign of Chaos - Windows D3D faster
World of Wircraft Reign of Chaos - Wine D3D much slower
World of Wircraft Reign of Chaos - Windows OpenGL faster
World of Wircraft Reign of Chaos - Wine OpenGL faster

            Flaout I - Windows D3D faster
            Flaout I - Wine D3D A little bit slower

Bus Driver - Windows OpenGL faster
Bus Driver - Wine OpenGL faster
Bus Driver - Linux Wine OpenGL slower (Because Linux Intel Mesa Driver does not optimized for ARB shader operation)

Linux Intel OpenGL Mesa driver has same level of functionality As Windows Intel OpenGL driver but Intel Linux Mesa driver is slower in many graphics operaton.
