  • RadeonHD and X1270 on SuSE 11.2

    Hello,
I am trying to run OpenSuSE 11.2 on a Dell Latitude D531 with a X1270-Card.
Due to Problems with the blanc Screen after Installation, I am trying to get this running with several Drivers ...
    - The Radeon-Driver is Running fine but only in 2D-mode
    - The old Catalyst 9.3 doesn't like Suse 11.2
    - The new Catalyst 9.4 is not available for my VGA-Card
    - The RadeonHD-Driver should (like I understand all Postings in the Internet) run, but here It doesn't work at all ...

Here is the Result of rhd_conntest :
    rhd_conntest: v1.3.0, non-git sources
    Found card: (null) - (null)
    Checking connectors on 0x791F, 0x1028, 0x0206 (@01:05:00):
    Load Detection: RHD_OUTPUT_NONE
    HotPlug: RHD_HPD_NONE
    DDC: RHD_DDC_1
    LVDS Info:
18bits, dual link, LDI Panel found.
    Power Timing: 0x000, 0x000, 0x1D, 0x03, 0x281C
    Macro: 0x00000000, Clock Pattern: 0x00A0

The Debug-Output of the SuSE-Utility SaX (>sax2 -m 0=radeonhd) I have placed under this URL:

I would be very pleased if someone can help me ...
    Kind Regards
    Karsten

Both the open-source radeon and radeonhd drivers should run fine and you should have 3D capability "out of the box" with opensuse 11.2. You can also try mesa 7.7 to see if it improves performance: http://software.opensuse.org/ymp/X11..._11.2/Mesa.ymp

    dlopen: /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/updates//extensions/libglx.so: undefined symbol: miInitVisualsProc
    (EE) Failed to load /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/updates//extensions/libglx.so
Make sure you've completely purged all the Catalyst stuff. It looks like you still have the proprietary version of libglx.so
