Hi there,
I upgraded my parents' HTPC's mainboard from an ASUS M2NPV-VM (GeForce 6150) to an ASUS M3N78-VM (GeForce 8200), and went from Kernel 2.6.27 to 2.6.32 at the same time.
I used to have two 3pin-fans (non-PWM models) controlled just fine by `fancontrol` from lm_sensors in conjunction with the it87 kernel module.
When running `pwmconfig` with the new mainboard, fan-speed readouts work fine, yet there's no impact on the fans' RPM. Since the old motherboard used to work in a very similar setup, I'm wondering why the new one won't. Any ideas or pointers on how to get the old functionality back?
"Q-Fan-Support" is enabled in the new board's CMOS setup. Th it87 module loads fine.
Thanks in advance for your input!
