Doom3, sound during timedemo?

I would like to know if there is any way for me to enable sound during the timedemo?
The reason I want to do this is because I want to test pulseaudio enabled and disabled in my distro while I am playing music in the background and using TeamSpeak.
I have an Audigy2zs witch I am under the impression does hardware mixing. I need to know for myself if the static and delayed sound from pulseaudio is also slowing my games down by using excessive cpu.

Why not just test using PTS? You can switch sound on and off on some of the gaming tests (I know you can on the Nexuiz test). As far as I know, there is no way to switch sound on the Doom 3 demo.

tbh if i was you i would remove/disable pulse audio... it sucks it slow down my linux box as hell. but tto test your sound it would use PTS as Melcar said one post above...
