  • Video/audio quality benchmarking?

I know we have some benchmarks for the speed of audio and video encoding, but how about some for the actual audio and video quality? I imagine the video one would be similar to your "graphics driver video quality" one, and extract still video frames at various consistent points in the video for comparison (for instance, one at 10%, one at 20% etc).

The audio one might be able to work with being able to switch from one audio result to another; like the solo function in most audio editors.

I'd be interested in this feature, especially if it compares different versions of FFMPEG.

    Chris

(BTW I just subscribed to Phoronix Premium, I get a lot of enjoyment out of reading your articles and hardware reviews; thanks!)
