Hi all, I've got some issues regarding avidemux and mkv files.
I have 40 mkv files of 2.2GB each, with a resolution of 1280x720, I also have a bunch of other 720p mkv files (same series) of 1.1GB each. Although there are some minor visual differences I'd like to shrink the 2.2GB files down to 1.1GB using avidemux (unless you can recommend another program.) All files are x264.
Avidemux does a pretty good job when it comes to video, indeed it does give me 1.1GB videos with great visual quality, but the sound is all garbled and/or too slow, no matter what kind of audio output I choose (bitrate 192), and if I choose "copy" it doesn't convert the file at all, it'll just say the files has been copied successfully within about a second, normally that would take 30 minutes (even with my overclocked i7), so I know it didn't do anything.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
For what it's worth, I'm using Karmic, but I have the same problem when using avidemux under Windows 7.
