  • PTS Live on USB: config changes gone after reboot

    Hi,

So I'm making some very minor config changes to my PTS Live installed on a big USB flash drive. The problem is that as soon as I reboot all of my changes are gone. I'm pretty sure this is because of the tempfs. How do I get my changes to stick? I'm guessing I need to boot into a disk based Ubuntu and change the fstab on the PTS Live usb drive. Am I close??

    Thanks,
    Jon

Hmm, if you use the Ubuntu disk creator for writing the image to the disk, and select some persistent storage options, does it then work for you?

Looks like this is a known issue with usb-creator. Here is how you get around it.
Boot from USB Ubuntu. Create a bootable Ubuntu USB flash drive with persistence from within Windows. Install Ubuntu from USB to a hard drive.

FYI because the persistent part of the file system is held in ONE file. The limit to the persistent space is 4GB on a FAT32 USB drive.
