Here is my problem: i am playing with VED8900 netbook (based on VIA OpenBook reference design) and trying to install Fedora 11 (ok no matter what version or Linux, since latest openchrome driver didn't support vx800 chipset) on it. The only mode i get in Desktop mode from Live USB was by booting with "video=vesafb vga=791" and than choosing 800x600x32 resolution. Unfortunately in this mode mouse is "invisible" - synaptics is working, but cursor has disappeared. Any suggestions to load with vesafb, but get mouse normally working, visible?
