Was wondering if any work is being done on getting kernel modesetting working with r7xx chips? I have a HD4870 and when using radeon.modeset=1 as a kernel option I just get a blank screen.
(Yes, I'm using drm-rawhide branch of Dave Airlie. I've tried this on Fedora 11 Beta, and on gentoo with the fedora 11 cvs patches also.)
What's stopping this from working? Is the developer aware this is broken? Does he have access to the necessary hardware for testing?
