  • Shared memory with open source drivers

I've got a Dell Inspiron 6400 with an ATI Mobility X1400 in it. It has 128mb onboard but the hypermemory garbage for windows tells me that I can share another 128mb from my RAM with it.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I would go about using some system ram with my graphics card in linux? Or is this just not possible?

    TIA

Addressing system memory via the GPU is done via the GART which is provided by the northbridge in the case of AGP or my the GPU in the case of PCI/PCIE/IGP. It's already supported.
