  • Moonlight to pick up vdpau

Think this will prompt Adobe to get off their ass and fix their Flash?

From their Summer of Code list

    VDPAU VC-1/H.264 Support

The new NVidia VDPAU API supports decoding VC-1 and H.264 in hardware. Implement support for determining at runtime if a card is capable of leveraging this api, and offload the decoding to the GPU.
NOTE: A G98 nvidia card is required to implement the vc-1 decoder and will need to be provided by the student.
This shouldn't actually be all that hard with moonlight relying on ffmpeg which already has vdpau support.

I would be more interested in AMD getting off their ass and fix their Linux video acceleration

Probably the same day that all the xorg developers can agree on a steady roadmap.
