On Ubuntu Jaunty (9.04), updated today. Test suite installed from ubuntu repo, not the deb file on your site.

And then it thinks the benchmark was corectly installed and when attempting to run it I get:

What it's missing (on Ubuntu) is libimlib2-dev.

If you're going the route of downloading source tarballs and compiling and installing on my machine, at least do it right. Use or make debs out of everything (and rpms for rpm distros) or use the gentoo ebuilds. If you can't even detect that a dependency is not installed, don't do it yourself. Not Invented Here Syndrome at its worst.

imlib2-dev was just mistakenly left out of our external dependencies support, but will be added in now that it's known.

Actually I just checked on it and the Imlib2 development files is already covered by the PTS External Dependencies. When installing render-bench, did you decline to enter your root password when prompted or anything like that?

It uses apt to install other dependencies, so it can install libimlib2-dev too. But the problem is worse than an unspeficied dependency: the build totally failed and the thing still decided the benchmark was correctly installed.

Right, PTS should have installed that dependency for you. It does in all cases I have used render_bench, but I am not sure why it didn't for you.

But the problem is worse than an unspeficied dependency: the build totally failed and the thing still decided the benchmark was correctly installed.

More safety checks will be added in the future.
