  • filesystem types and solid harddisk

    Hi Phoronix,
I just wanted to know which filesystem type is best suitable for solid harddisk. It would be appreciated if there could post article about benchmarks on various types of filesystem running on solid harddisk.

    Many Thanks,
    Enih

Solid hard disk? You mean these flash drives? The filesystems for them aren't absolutely release quality yet (btrfs, tux3, and what they are named), you probably still have to wait for one of the next kernel releases.
I'm not sure how resistent to many write processes by journaling these data carriers are, but I'd try something without journaling first, a classic ext2 which is stable and tested and safe for example.
Stop TCPA, stupid software patents and corrupt politicians!
