  • Amazingly they've fixed my UXA crash problems that I've had since december with the latest release, going on 32 hours now with no crashes with mesa 7.6 and the latest drm/-intel.

    Option "EXAOptimizeMigration" "true"
    Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy"
    Option "AccelMethod" "uxa"
you can remove these, first two are for EXA and last one is impled automatically because there's only uxa now.

Option "Tiling" "false" # may break 3D rendering if enabled
Not a good idea IMO unless you absolutely need the fix..

    • With so many changes occuring with this intel freeze bug its hard to keep up what should/should not be in the xorg.conf, i have taken your recommends and eliminated those lines by comments (just in case i need them back again)
I find my mesa is still working on 7.4

      • I did a du this morning, it brought in the following. I had my first
freeze. I did a xswat diagnostic (attached) by ssh'ing into the sick
        machine.
The crash is repeatable, every time i click on my news feed
www.woodtv.com it freezes. I hope this can be resolved, something
got changed in this recent update as i have not had these freezes.

        • I can confirm that site does freeze me up too, you might want to file the bug upstream at bugs.freedesktop.org since they arent ubuntu's packages.

Did that site work ok for you in the 502 package or were you saying you didnt click it in that one either? Do you know when the last working one was?

I reopened my bug and added the fact that that site crashes me here -

just need to know if you can remember the last time it crashed for you because if it was working in the 5-02 package you had in the previous post then this commit is the offender and I can post that specific info

          • unfortunately i don't think I had checked my local news www.woodtv.com
in a fair amount of time and in fairness, not sure i checked it with
the referenced 502 (before the du yesterday) I will check in at the
bugs.freedesktop.org and add to your report. Once i am amble to login. (it doesnt seem to like my passwords)

            • Ah ok, if it wasnt that 5-02 it's alot iffier, the 4/27 before that got a huge amount of changes between the two and you probably weren't even using UXA. No biggie!

              • well i am glad you are being affected too, simply because we both have a repeatable way of making it occur with a visit to my news feed
We tell local Grand Rapids news & weather stories, and we do what we do to make Grand Rapids & the rest of Michigan a better place to live.

                • This bug seems related

The pages listed in comment 29 crash me the same was as your website and my backtrace looks the same. I'm glad I've never hit any of these pages unless it was on purpose at least

and it crashed while loading from the site. I will try again later
when im not sleepy eye'd and see if i can ssh into this box and kill
                    firefox to restore the laptop.

                    • Crashes here too

I tried to load the tokyo metro map with internet sites link. While it works until after its completely loaded, at that time firefox freezes and the rest of X too. Mouse can be moved. VT switch does not work. However, killing X works. Closing the laptop lid for suspend seems to work as well, or it was triggered before the the freezing. After resume from suspend, X works for a moment, with an inresponsive firefox. If I do not kill firefox soon, it will again freeze X. Again, killing X works with the shortcut Alt Gr - PrintScreen - k.
