When will the next xf86-video-ati driver be released?
When will the next xf86-video-ati driver be released?
It's been about 4 months since the last release (6.9.0) and many changes have been made in that time. Is there a schedule for release, or does anyone know when the next release will come?
My question was more related to the release plan, though... is there a schedule for release? What justifies a "release" as far as the team's methodology is concerned?
A new release of xf86-video-ati would be a good idea, considering that many distros now ship git snapshots of the driver, in order to support more hardware.
I agree it would be nice to have a 6.10.0 release with current master before the merging of GEM/KMS support. The only thing that would be nice to have before the release is defaulting to EXA when:
compiled against a recent enough version of xserver (EXA works well for me at least since 1.4), and
using radeon kernel module 1.29.0 or later.
At least it would be nice to have a 6.9.191 test version.
