    Club-Ubuntu is organising a Global WAN Party to be held on 14-16 November!

    "Announcing the first ever Club-Ubuntu Global WAN Party! The party will be the weekend of Nov 14 - 16 and will feature some popular FOSS games. If you are interested in joining the fun, please join the mailing list to be kept up to date as details will be forthcoming."

    So, foss-gamers out there, come forth and join the fun in the coming weekend
    (you can also suggest your favorite game for inclusion on the club-ubuntu mailing list)

    Depends what FOSS games there is played. Nice idea but I don't think I can make it... too much work up my arse <.=.<

        so far there's word about openarena, urban terror, wormux, openleirox and bzflag...
        if you got any other suggestions, you could also tell about them on the mailing list, or on #club-games on freenode

          Yeah, that depends on the foss games they are putting up. Sounds like they are all shooters too. LOL.

            Most FOSS games are shooters, especially when it comes to multiplayer.

              That's true. There are exceptions like Wormux or some RTS games. Why nobody made a sports game? Like OpenNHL or something like that... nobody needs real player names nor teams as long as it's all for the fun

                  Though not exactly foss games, some of the most successful games to day have been created by the community, like counter-strike or dota...
                  It's a pity that you need to build on an already commercially successful game in order to have a community created game of such success...

                    Nah, not required. There are engines out there like Crystal-Space or renderers like OGRE and more coming. Spares you anyways of license troubles.
