  • Forcing a refresh rate to be default to certain resolution

Is there some way to force fglrx to use a refresh rate to certain resolutions?

I'm not talking about changing the resolution manually. Of course this can be done.

What I want to do, for instance, is having a game start in 1024x768 using 60hz rate. I've tried the old way of modelines at 60hz, this worked for me in the past with other cards by setting a modeline and the mode in the 'Modes' line. Now it doesn't work. The mode may exist, but it doesn't overwrite the resolution mode nor does it get brought up to the front as it used to. That would cause any automatic resolution change to use the set refresh rate.

Is there another way to do this?

The problem you're having is the root of my question in this other thread.

We need to figure out how to set custom modes in the new driver model. Hopefully someone out there will assist.
