  • My Laptop panel FADES to white when I logout

My Laptop panel FADES to white when I logout. It happened every time since two or three versions ago of fglrx and it still behaves the same.

every fuc_*_*_n_g new version has the same bug...

    WTF!

My laptop is an X200 based compaq. (v2617la)
running fglrx 8.10 (ubuntu version) on gentoo updated system.

(maldigo la hora en que compr? una latop con ATI gfx)
I curse the hour in which I bought one latop with ATI gfx

sorry, just in my native language i can express my frustration.

    sorry my english.

    OK, just to confirm :

    - this problem has been happening with a few recent versions of fglrx

    - problem did *not* happen with earlier versions of fglrx ? Is that correct ? If so, do you remember a version which did work ?

How long does the fade take ?

I agree that English is not a great language for expressing frustration, particularly on a moderated board

i do not remember well, i think june's version was working fine.

when i logout my screen blinks (killing X sever, i think).
then, when it should back to kdm, screen fades to white and no combination of buttons work (nor CTRL+ALT+DEL nor CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE)
i press power button, then shutdown proccess occurs in background.

      thanks brigdman for your help.
