Hey, bridgman, have you heard anything from the dev team about this card under Linux? I still have no X

    Thanks,

    EE

Huh. So, after getting 'startx' to fail out repeatedly, I tried running the same as root. *Poof!* I got X.

      Then!
I ran 'gdm' and got my login window. X is now running, uh, fine.

This was thus a) a permission/config problem which I fixed unknowingly by editing the xorg.conf file (but just couldn't use for permissions issues).
      and/or
      b) a package that needed to be updated (I updated a bunch the last week)

Now, I just have to get back to the nagging problems in the other thread. Anyway, this is, um, solved?

      Thanks,

      EE

        Hello EE.

Would you mind posting your xorg.conf setting and Xorg.0.log when you enter X successfully?

I read that you got a "Enable Crossfire Successfully!" message in your Xorg.0.log.
I'm wondering if reading your xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log might solve my problem not being able to enable crossfire on my 4870x2.

        Thanks in advance
