Anyone have any questions about Intuit (makers of TurboTax and other software) and Linux? They also launched http://www.thelinux411.com/ quite recently... If anyone has any questions about Intuit and Linux, fire away and Intuit will answer them at Phoronix.

Heh... They just recently made the database side of their enterprise class product lineup available on Linux. The main portion of the enterprise product uses .NET and is stated to run on Windows only. I suppose, if they didn't cheat much on the UI components, they could conceivably use Mono to run their code without many changes on Linux (and they may be considering that, based on the website you linked...). The consumer products, though, don't state .NET or anything (Though it is really, really telling when you read the minimums for Quicken on the consumer side: "400 MHz (Windows XP), 1 GHz (Windows Vista)"- that's a big, big, big jump in resource requirements.Originally posted by Michael View Post
