  • Asus P5Q- Deluxe or ASUS P5N-T Deluxe?

    hi!
i'm wanna build my own PC, and i'm thinking on buying one of those motherboard. I'm not an overclocker, sometimes i play games (so SLI would be something nice, but its not necessery).
could anyone give me an advice about those mobos?

P5Q- Deluxe- specification of this board

    and P5N-T Deluxe - http://uk.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=...81&modelmenu=2

i'm interested about soundcards, ethernet cards, acpi support (changing frequency of processor), cooperation with lm_sensors, possibility to adjust fans' speed or through OS, or from Bios directly etc.

with choice would be a better?

For SLI it is clear that you need Nvidia chipset. Like 750i or 780i.

yes, i know that- i'd like to know how those 2 mobos cooperate with linux- i.e. are all compoments (mostly- ehternet and sound) work fine under linux, does they requare a closed-source bineries/firmware or they work on free drivers etc.
and, on the other hand- how effective is SLI under linux? is it supported (by nvidias drivers) in the same degree as under windows?

In theory both boards should do with current kernels.
