Hi ... I've been searching around a little bit trying to figure out the best way to solve this problem I'm having when using full screen on any video or 3d tool. I noticed the problem began to start from the 8.5 version up to the 8.8. I'm really interested in using the 8.8 version since my 2.6.26 kernel is now fully supported. I managed to install the drivers with direct rendering and I configured the xorg conf file with the:
aticonfig --initial -f
When I tried to full screen a video I'm playing and exit full screen mode my desktop goes checkered and it clones into two instances. When I close the application using the graphics card the problem is no more.
Can anyone help me towards solving this issue??
I'm running Debian Lenny on a Dell Inspiron 6400 with a x1400 mobility radeon.
