What's so great about Intel's support?

I've been using textured video through XV for almost a year now. Who said it didn't work? AFAIK, all you need is a GMA 900 or later. It works on the system I have now (see sig).

Have you tried full screen playback? For my system, the playback is very jerky. I must disable composite in order to play smoothly. I am not sure is the driver issue or is a limitation of the card.

Though, that is not a very big problem for me.

I doubt it's a limitation of the card as the same thing works in Vista with Aero enabled.

Just to drop a note, my i830M has no trouble at all playing full-screen XV with compositing (of xfce 4).
