hav upgraded mesa to 7.1rc3 and xserver from experimental. Hav also upgraded kernel to 2.6.26. DRI is now enabled. But glxgears also does not work, leave alone compiz. Get some RGB buffer error.

it would be infinitely easier to help you could you make available stuff like glxinfo, xorg log, and the complete error message..

Problem solved

Managed to solve the problem by updating some more misc packages. Now smoothly running compiz . Great performance. No more slow scrolling in Firefox or tearing videos with Xv. Thanks for the help neways.
