  • Ubuntu Hardy + 3870X2 (beware Im a linux noob :)

Title says it all i guess...

I allready found a thread on this forum but its kinda hard to understand.
Ive gotten everything right, untill i have to edit the xorg.conf

i cant figure out where to put the things that need to be changed (the id and such)
Now I changed something (forgotten what) and i cant start anything (terminal and so on)
not that is such a big deal, ill go get a fresh install (hmm, must be the 8th time)

If someone could just tell (please keep it simple ) me how to make this thing work (getting drivers working with 3870X2), I would be very gratefull.

    Thx in advance

fglrx comes with a tool to set up your xorg.conf automatically - if you run through the Hardy Installation Guide, it's the "sudo aticonfig --initial -f" step.

If you post your current xorg.conf (either using [code] tags or using pastebin.com and posting the link), someone should at least be able to help you get it back to the way it was

If not, you can reset your xorg.conf by running the xorg reconfiguration process, "sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg"
