  • X is sometimes crashing

    Hello,

first I want to say that I am surprised how good the proprietary works now. I had concerns before I buyed a Gigabyte GA-MA78G-D3SH motherboard with a hd 3200 onboard graphic adapter but after many positive reports about the new driver I have buyed it.

Unfortunately since I have installed the new board and the driver X sometimes suddenly crashes after it has been running a long time before without problems.

    The logfile contains:

    Backtrace:

I have installed the latest driver, 8.7, and have a 2.6.25.1 vanilla kernel, OS is a debian etch amd64 system.

I have seen many others with similar problems, but their X does not start at all, for them a solution seems to be to set the aperture size to 256MB, but I already have 256MB.

    Has sb. an idea?
